Generative AI listing capabilities announced at Amazon Accelerate

Announcement reposted from Amazon:

At Day 1 of Amazon Accelerate, we announced new set of generative artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities that will make it faster and easier for you to list new products as well as enrich existing listings.

AI-generated listing content for new listings

We’ve made new generative AI capabilities available to you to reduce the work it takes to create compelling product titles, bullet points and descriptions.

The new capabilities use large language models (LLMs) – a type of machine learning model specifically trained on insights and metrics that can recognize, summarize, translate, predict, and generate text and other content – to build more comprehensive product descriptions.

When you create a new single-product listing, you only need to provide a brief description of the product in a few words or sentences, and we’ll generate high-quality content for your review. You can refine it if you want to, or directly submit the automatically generated content to the Amazon catalog.

These AI listing capabilities are now available to all US sellers. To get started, go to Add Products and create a new listing.

Improving existing listings to increase customer confidence

We’ll also enrich your existing listings to ensure your products have all the details that customers want, to help you drive more sales. We’ll use AI to automatically generate missing attributes, and improve titles, bullet points, and descriptions, based on insights and metrics in Amazon’s catalog. You’ll be able to review any changes, and make edits if desired.

This capability will be available to you soon. Stay tuned for updates.

This is actually very interesting. I have been working on a similar tool since three years ago. If I didn’t have so much work with all the litigations, it could have been finished.

It comes as a big surprise how quickly did the AI take over the world. I remember how this time last year barely anyone was familiar with it and now the AI rules.

It’s unbelievable how many jobs can now be replaced with a high final result success rate.

I am glad that I didn’t invest too much resources and energy into developing various AI-based startups, now once I know how easily accessible it is to anyone.

They are using the words “AI” as a buzz…It is more like a predictive paradigm that must be taught. Problem is, all the bias of the “trainers” and “content” providers is built into the training model.

Investors get all excited when the they hear “buzz words”

It’s just unbelievable how intelligent the software is and how it can effectively replace authors, content creators, advisors etc by scanning the whole internet.

Imagine what it would look like if a seller posted on the Amazon Seller Forum and within 10 seconds, he would have an answer to his question - promptly generated our of his account status and information related to the case.

How can any person compete with an intelligence that has access to the entire world’s knowledge…

It will be interesting to see if AI with all its access to information eventually results in the humanity getting unsolvable questions solved, such as cure to cancer.

I don’t know this for fact, but on the old forum I am pretty confident they were testing and using AI. One of the “mods” was extremely good and handled skeeter very well. That was not a typical employee, it was some one with a masters or better in communications or it was silicon talking.

Amazon is already a mess. I don’t want to imagine what it will be like once listing titles and descriptions are auto-generated. And it will be third-party sellers who pay the price.
