I’m looking for advice from anyone with experience selling supplements on Amazon. I recently received an email stating that Amazon has locked the Health & Personal Care category and is not accepting applications to sell in this space. I had been selling my product (a supplement) without any issues before, but now I’m being told I need approval, even though my Account Health is perfect.
Has this happened to anyone else? Do these restrictions typically get resolved, and how long do they usually last?
At the moment, my product is in labeling, and I don’t want to wait around for months.
I’d really appreciate any advice, feedback, or insights from others who’ve dealt with this situation. Thanks in advance for your help!
I am working on multiple supplement accounts, but I haven’t experienced this issue on any of them in recent days. Yes, I have faced similar situations in the past but successfully got the products reinstated.
Amazon has a system where they can demand certificates at any time while you are selling. However, there are always several ways to get the listings reinstated.
This situation is not uncommon, as Amazon frequently updates its category restrictions and approval requirements, particularly for high-risk categories like Health & Personal Care. Even if you were previously selling without issues, Amazon can implement new gating requirements, meaning approval is now mandatory. These restrictions can vary in duration—some are temporary while others may require ongoing compliance. To move forward, ensure you gather all required documentation, such as certificates of analysis, GMP certifications, and proper labeling compliance. Proactively reach out to Amazon Seller Support to clarify the requirements and begin the approval process. Meanwhile, consider diversifying your sales channels to avoid prolonged downtime.
