Why is it so complicated to find a profitable product on Amazon?

I have been searching for the last couple of days using Viral Launch but still haven’t found any interesting products yet. I already used Helium 10, but I find Viral Launch to be more accurate when it comes to numbers. Any tips you can share would be very appreciated.

Thanks!

Sometimes it’s taking weeks and another time it’s matter of minutes - Be consistent and don’t give up. Maybe worth to think about something around your hobby or something what you have knowledge ?

Are u searching for PL or Wholesale? If you’re starting as a new then I would suggest you to go through wholesale and OA to get some knowledge later on you can launch your own PL brand and you better know what type of product you need to launch

Product research is time taking task there is no time limit!

Criteria should be.

Search volume greater than of main keywords : 8000

Competitor less than 15

Product cost should be:30/45$

Average rating 4.3 of top 5 competitor.

Analyze the competitor offer, variation, color ,size, shape competition.

Amazon is going to be on research due to high competition.

Also you have need to find secure way of launching to secure you budget!

It’s easy to launch product it’s difficult to got success!.

If you have any further queries you can ask me!

It can take some time to find good products. If you are looking for software recommendations, Helium10 is best to find products for launch.

Don’t forget to set your criteria and required profit accordingly.

Thanks, I really appreciate that, a good push. Yeah that’s what I’m trying to do but still I couldn’t find a product that meets the profitable product criteria so I hope something will turns up soon enough.

I’m talking about private label, there are five aspects.

Low BSR , high search volume (min 8k).

Low competition (max review counts 100 max 200) sales depth (means most of the listing sharing sells equally even with small difference won’t matter. No brand domination or Amazon cuz can’t compete with both) and finally not seasonal product which means stable sales all the year along.

Finding a profitable product on Amazon requires niche targeting, differentiation, and thorough analysis of demand, competition, and profitability using tools like Viral Launch or Helium 10. Focus on unique features, low competition niches, and cost-effective sourcing to maximize profitability.

Don’t overlook products with lower search volume. My main keyword has around 2500 monthly search volume and has turned a really good profit (usually $2-4K monthly) Its gonna be very hard to find a product that checks all the boxes you listed above. Some of my competitors have 1-2K reviews and I still compete well with them because my product is different and improves on their weaknesses. In this market youve got to be able to differentiate. The product I’m launching soon has like 1200 monthly search volume on the main keyword but it will easily turn 30-40% profit margin after a few weeks. Its almost a slam dunk because the main Chinese competitors are putting out garbage and its easy to beat them with a better product. You’ll almost never beat them on price but people will pay a bit more for quality.

You are making very good point actually I do agree with you but I have some questions for you :

The first is what are the criteria that I need to focus on so I can make sure that I have a chance in the market because as you said it’s impossible to check all the boxes, is it low reviews rate which give me a chance to create a product with better quality?

Walk me through this please.

A low number of reviews is helpful but more important in my opinion is the quality of reviews. Look for review averages under 4 stars which is ideal but that can range all the way to 4.2. 4.3 and up is about average for a good product. Anything below 4 stars can be improved upon.

Budgeting is a big issue with PL as well and this is kinda overlooked. General consensus is to look at the average revenue of the top 10 competitors of a product youre interested in and about 80% of that number is what it will take to compete with them. Because if they have decent reviews and a review count over 2000+, its gonna cost you a lot in PPC to rank up organically. So my advice is to not swing for the fences.

Find a product that needs improving where the top sellers are in the $10-30K revenue range. A lot of people try to find one product that will make huge margins. I say why not find 3+ products that produce $2-3K a month in profit?

If you are successful with your first product, find the next one with the profits from the first. Its like building a stock portfolio and it does take time.
