Why did I receive this, and what should I do?

My OTDR was 70%, but I worked on it, and now it is 92%.

I am now shipping some SKUs with 1-day handling and others with 3-day handling.

Your account is at risk of being automatically enrolled to Automated Handling Time

Hello,

Your account is at risk of being automatically enrolled to have Automated Handling Time (AHT) enabled. Once auto-enrolled, you will no longer be able to disable AHT.

To prevent this from happening, take the actions as described to address your Issues.

Why did I receive this message?

Your account has a gap of 2 days or more between the Handling Time you have set and your actual Handling Time. This discrepancy results in customers seeing an inaccurate delivery date.

By setting accurate handling times, customers will see an accurate delivery date and understand exactly when to expect their orders. Accurate handling times are a crucial part of a positive shopping experience. In our experience, shorter and accurate handling times typically result in more sales. For more information, go to

How can I address this issue?

Same happening to me in USA.

The information you need is in the message (though some of it is cut off).

It’s not very clear or succinctly worded, but it seems there is a mismatch between your stated order turnaround time (from order placement to dispatch) and what you’re actually doing.

There could be several reasons for this based on your setup, but essentially, you need to:

  • Improve your dispatch times to match what you advertise on Amazon.
  • Update Amazon more quickly when you dispatch orders.
  • Align your advertised dispatch times with the actual times you’re able to achieve.
  • Accept Amazon’s automatic handling as a last resort.

I don’t know which of these applies in your case, but hopefully, this points you in the right direction.

Thank you, should I dispatch earlier?

It’s hard to say without knowing your exact situation, but if you consider all the points I’ve raised, you should get a clearer picture.

It really comes down to something as simple as: I say delivery is by X—what is the reality?

Automated Handling Time (AHT) includes all activities from receiving the order, picking and packing the items, printing shipping labels, and preparing the package for dispatch (including the dispatch itself). From what I understand, it also includes some assessment of the chosen delivery method to determine if it will arrive on time, though this process is not very transparent.

You just need to identify where you are not meeting the expectations you’ve set on Amazon.

I would:

  1. Identify the timings you’ve set up on Amazon (are these account-wide or adjusted per product?).
  2. Review your order fulfillment process to pinpoint where you’re falling short.
  3. Narrow it down. It could be due to a specific product line, weekends/holidays, or one particular part of the handling process not being completed (or recorded) on time. Alternatively, it might be an issue with the shipping service itself. This can be tricky because you don’t have direct access to that data. However, if all your flagged orders are linked to one courier, that would be a strong indicator.
