Which legal entity is the best for UK based seller?

Hi everyone,

I’ve been familiarizing myself with the whole process of selling on Amazon and finally ready to start… and have the dilemma of how to register on gov website: sole proprietorship or limited company?!

Sole proprietorship says can take 3 weeks for me to get the UTN which I need for registering on Amazon. But to register as private limited company sounds like it’s for a big business that earns at least 6 digit figures annually, and I’m starting off slowly.

Would really appreciate some input

Hi Mariya I would register as a sole trader, not a limited company. You can always change your account to limited company later on. A limited company involves a lot more paperwork and headache, especially if you’re just starting out.

Go for LTD that’s more viable and see things in big horizons.
