When creating an LLC, you typically need to choose a unique business name, file Articles of Organization with the state (like Delaware or Wyoming), designate a registered agent (which can be yourself if you’re physically present in the state, but most non-residents use a registered agent service), get an EIN from the IRS, create an Operating Agreement (especially if you have multiple members), and register for any necessary state or local licenses depending on your business activities. I didn’t make myself the registered agent since I’m not based in the U.S., so I used a reliable registered agent service that also provides a business address and mail forwarding, which is helpful for compliance and receiving official documents.
