When is product from Alibaba considered branded?

Question, if you are selling something that your branded through Alibaba and are doing Private label. On Amazon is that considered Branded? Do you have to follow through with the Brand Application since I don’t have a Barcode attached to my products?

The over whelming majority of the stuff on ali is no-name brands. So you will not get any drafting from selling “their no-name brand”. If the item is not marked just make it your own and give it your own private GS1 registered UPC code under your company. That is how all the amazon re-branders operate, that also gives them a unique ASIN that no other seller will be on.

Just be careful and do your homework well regarding IP, certifications, FCC type approvals, FDA approvals and such.

Personally, I would strongly advise you to avoid selling generic items from Alibaba without any alterations to make them unique.

By the time your inventory arrives to Amazon’s warehouse, the platform will be flooded with hundreds of similar listings offering identical products and with 5 star reviews.

Do your research, have a product manufactured in China and then register your brand to protect your listing.
