When applying for a trademark, if you plan to also use the company name initials, do you need to trademark the initials too?

Would that be 2 trademarks? Or does the company name trademark cover using the initials?

You will be better off hiring a patent attorney, it is very complicated and mistakes are costly.

Trademarking any other word-mark would constitute a separate trademark. Any individual term/word requires a separate application.

As @PC_Parts says, every term itself requires a separate trademark. Your trademark of a specific brand name doesn’t entitle you to coverage of its initials.
