What should I look for in a vendor and their products on Alibaba?

I am completely new to this but have found products I want to sell on Amazon. I am currently vetting vendors on Alibaba.

You can check the quality, ratings, reviews, MOQ, EXW and DDP prices, and whether the company account is verified or not. You can compare these factors before placing an order.

When vetting vendors on Alibaba for products to sell on Amazon, consider the following:

1.Vendor Evaluation

Supplier Type: Look for “Trade Assurance” and “Verified Supplier” to ensure security and legitimacy.

Company Profile: Check the supplier’s Alibaba profile for information on sales, employees, quality control, and product range.

Response Time: Evaluate how quickly and thoroughly the supplier responds to inquiries.

Industry Experience: Consider how long the supplier has been in business and their ability to customize products.

Product Certifications: Ensure the supplier has the necessary certifications for the product you plan to sell.

2.Product Evaluation

Product Quality: Order samples to test the product’s quality before making a bulk order.

Pricing: Compare prices among different suppliers to ensure competitiveness while maintaining quality.

MOQ: Understand the supplier’s MOQ requirements to ensure they align with your business needs.

Lead Times : Confirm the production and delivery times to plan your inventory management.

Before placing an order, confirm product standards, feedback, minimum order, pricing terms, and supplier credibility.

Look for “Verified Supplier” and “Trade Assurance.” Check reviews, certifications, and order samples to verify quality.

  1. Look for gold suppliers, verified suppliers to ensure legitimacy and security, and give priority to suppliers with buyer protection

  2. Check transaction history and customer feedback.

  3. Evaluate the supplier’s response time and professionalism of the response.

  4. Request factory audit or quality certification, and request samples to test product quality.

  5. Confirm transportation methods, costs and delivery times.

  6. Make sure the supplier has the certifications required for the products you plan to sell, and avoid trademark or patent infringement.

Start with small orders. Remember not to believe in unrealistic low prices, which are often accompanied by many quality issues and are not conducive to your business reputation.
