What products did you sell when you started on Amazon?

Trying to get started with Amazon but it is proving a little difficult due to being gated for everything and finding suppliers.

My question is what products did you sell when you first started and what suppliers do you use?

When I first started, I got SellerAmp, which connected to my account and automatically told me if I was ungated. Then I scanned EVERYTHING in the clearance section of Walmart. Just keep going.

When starting on Amazon, many sellers begin with categories that are either ungated by default (like books, home & kitchen, or office products) or relatively easy to get ungated in, such as toys or pet supplies. Common early products include unbranded kitchen gadgets, organizers, simple office accessories, or low-risk seasonal items. As for suppliers, most beginners use retailers like Walmart, Target, Argos (UK), or online wholesalers such as EE Distribution or Frontier Co-op for initial invoices to ungate brands or categories. Others turn to wholesale directories like Faire, Abound, or even distributors like Harrison or ACD for toys and games. Ultimately, start small with low-risk items, focus on building a sales record, and work toward getting ungated in more profitable brands and categories.
