What happens if I dissolve my company but Amazon doesn’t allow me to close my account?

Hi everyone,

I plan to close my company, but Amazon has repeatedly rejected my submissions for Section 3; therefore, it can’t be reinstated. I can’t close the account without reinstating it.

Any help and advice would be appreciated.

Thank you!

I went through this 18 months ago. Amazon will not close the account until the stock is cleared and all outstanding amounts are paid. The account I had is still open, even though the company was liquidated. There’s not much I can do now, as I have no power over the company. Regarding changing it to an individual account, you can be personally liable for any debts.

Hello @Naeema,

thank you for joining the forum!

Unfortunately, if you have a deactivated selling account, then Amazon will not allow you to close it. This will be the case even if you close the company.

In order to be able to close the selling account, you will firstly need to appeal to get it fixed.

You need to apply for closure when your account is healthy, and it will take a number of days to be announced before you can completely close it. If your account is not healthy, it will not be closed for you.
