Recently, I emailed Amazon regarding the VAT being charged on FBA and referral fees. They replied with a promising response, stating that they are working on the reimbursements for this.
I’m not VAT registered, by the way.

If you’re not VAT registered then you cannot claim back the VAT on fees & Amazon won’t reimburse you - for you, the costs went up on 1st August, I’m afraid.
This is typical of Seller Support. Totally clueless.
If you are not VAT-registered, you can’t claim back the VAT. Just like you can’t for any goods or services purchased in the UK.
I don’t think you can claim any vat without vat number. It’s just not possible.
Are you a UK resident?
Yeah, logically I think the same. Seemingly I can only claim my input if my company is registered on 20% VAT scheme.
Not me, but the account owner is, and I am working on his Amazon account.
Do your math and see if it will be better for you to get your vat number or not. That’s what many people did after the changes last month.
Either way, he should be VAT registered to claim back VAT. Otherwise, you are wasting your time.
