We just received a one-star review for our new product, and we’re pretty sure it’s from a competitor rather than a regular customer. The review came in just two days after the purchase, which is unusual, and even though we sent an apology and offered a refund, the reviewer edited their review to make it even worse.
Does anyone have suggestions on how to get the review removed? Is it possible to report it, maybe have friends report it as well? We’re doing well in rankings, but I’m worried this review could hurt our progress!
If you have a good product, don’t worry about one review. There will be enough good ones to out shine the bad one. Plus, honest negative reviews help you to improve your product and even help educate people about the reality of your product and if it is for that person. (Like if item is a topical, will it work with my white skin or should I be a black person to use it. Or if buying an item that needs to be put together, does it take a handyman to do it or can this weekend handyman with Walmart tools do it?). Eventually, your BSR will go up, volume will go up, and you will stop caring.
If you believe the review violates Amazon’s guidelines, I recommend opening a case with Amazon. However, don’t set your expectations too high, based on my experience, I’m dealing with two problematic product reviews myself, and I’m not confident I’ll be able to get them removed.
It can be removed by the buyer itself. You can create a case, but in most cases Amazon does not help. However you can leave a public reply to that comment.
