After watching some YouTube videos, I’m feeling incredibly motivated! I recently started my journey into the Amazon business with private label products. Sometimes, I feel like it’s a challenging path due to the difficulty of finding the right, profitable products with minimal competition. However, I’m happy because I took the leap and started, and I have a fantastic virtual assistant who feels like a brother to me.
I’m reaching out to hear about your own beginnings in this business. Do you have any tips for someone who is extremely passionate and ready to do whatever it takes to succeed? Your advice and experiences would mean a lot to me as I navigate this journey.
Firstly, ground yourself and realise that the youtube videos you watched have no relation to the reality of the situation.
Making money long term on Amazon is incredibly difficult and while quick cash can be made, if you want a sustainable business, you will need to work hard, follow their rules and expect many hurdles and disappointments along the way.
I had never done PL, but when I started selling on Amazon, I completely forgot everything — video games, TV, friends — and I only focused on learning and growing the business. One more thing, I dreamed a lot about being a successful Amazon seller. Another thing I did was to surround myself with people interested in the same business and to spend time in places where people were discussing Amazon. This is how I built a successful Amazon business & made amazing friends.
The biggest mistake I made in my Amazon journey was becoming too confident in my abilities, thinking that my business will only grow no matter what, and getting back into my comfort zone, forgetting that if you release the gas pedal, things are going to slow down.
Be careful and plan carefully, considering any possible scenario. Always prepare for the worst.
