What are the pros and cons of this, and what’s the ideal solution to go with?

Hello,

I am in a debate with my business partner. With increasing Amazon issues, we had a discussion about opening a second Amazon account using the same personal details. We can separate both accounts with different bank accounts, etc., and of course, different products.

Our idea is to differentiate based on categories, like beauty and cosmetics on one store and tools and home improvement on the other, or we can separate based on brands. Has anyone ever considered a similar thing before?

The idea is that if one account is at risk, we might survive on the other.

Please share your input.

Thanks.

There is an option to use the same account to sell globally. For example, if you are selling in Saudi Arabia, you can use the same account to sell in the USA through the Sell Global option. You can target different markets and categories, but keep in mind that the account details will remain the same. You cannot add different bank account details or change the primary information of the account.

Unfortunately, as there is a link between the accounts, if one is deactivated, the other will be also.

So if that is the only reason why you want to have 2 accounts, I’m afraid it won’t do what you need.

Same person won’t work, must be different person.

The idea is that even if you keep everything separate, as long as your accounts are linked, if one account is suspended, the other will follow.

As you already know, it is not against the T&Cs to have multiple accounts as long as you have a valid reason, but this will not save you if one account is suspended.

I guess we can contact Amazon and take permission first.

As long as we keep products and bank information separate, I don’t think we need to worry about linking accounts.
