Amazon requires a real, verifiable residential or business address and a unique phone number that has never been used on any other Amazon account, and this information is used for KYC verification rather than public display, so your home address will not be shown to buyers if you configure your storefront and shipping settings correctly.
You cannot use a PO box, UPS Store mailbox, virtual office, coworking address, or registered agent address because Amazon cross-checks addresses against utility records, government databases, and proof-of-address documents, and these almost always fail verification. The phone number must be a real mobile or landline number capable of receiving SMS or live calls, not Google Voice, VoIP, burner apps, or a number previously associated with any Amazon buyer or seller account, including your wife’s if it has ever been linked.
The safest approach is to use your genuine home address for registration and obtain a brand-new SIM card from a mobile carrier in your own name solely for Amazon, then later hide your address from public-facing pages by adjusting seller profile and using FBA or return address settings.
If you truly need to avoid a home address, the only acceptable alternative is a genuine leased office or warehouse with your name or business legally tied to it and supported by matching documents such as bank statements or government correspondence.
