We’ve been selling on Amazon for 13 years, but out of nowhere, we received an email yesterday saying our account is under review for up to 30 days so they can verify that all shipped products have been delivered. This is despite us maintaining a 99.94% valid tracking rate and a 94% on-time delivery rate (we do FBM).
The major issue is that Amazon has frozen our funds. With cash flow dried up, we’ve been forced to stop selling. What’s odd is that just three days prior, a Chinese seller threatened us, claiming we were harming big Chinese sellers and warning of consequences if we didn’t stop. Now, we’ve gone from making £10k in daily profit to nothing, with a significant amount of money stuck with Amazon.
Has anyone else experienced something like this? Is it worth pursuing legal action against Amazon, or would that just be a waste of time? How can Amazon justify crippling a thriving business simply because other sellers are upset?
It is not a velocity review unless your sales suddenly jumped a lot.
All sellers go through re-verification. Sometimes it happens seamlessly without you even knowing about it but on this occasion, they appear to be doing a deeper check.
Unless you have concerns that you are doing something fishy, I wouldn’t stop selling. You’re only punishing yourself. Carry on and hope it gets sorted quickly.
Regarding the Chinese connection, it is highly unlikely it has anything to do with it but they may have complained to Amazon without your knowledge. Are you selling on their listings? Are you items exactly the same items, same brand etc or generic items?
Account reviews are normal when you are experiencing a sudden increase in selling volume.
As long as you are still able to sell, continue processing all orders just like usual. The review will last no more than 90days, unless you appeal or get suspended (as a result of it).
If you would like to speed up the review, you can appeal by providing Amazon this:
How long you’ve been in business
The sources of your inventory
Anticipated monthly sales on Amazon
The availability of items for shipping
The address of any retail locations
Links to other Amazon websites where you are actively selling
Tracking information for recently dispatched orders
