I want to register for VAT. I have virtual registered address with no proof of address. Anyone can help?
You can register with virtual address but HMRC need proof umm like contract or agreement, ask your provider to give proper documentation with your business name on it.
To register for VAT in the UK, HMRC generally requires proof of business establishment, which includes a valid UK business address supported by documentation such as a utility bill, lease, or business bank statement.
A virtual registered address alone is not sufficient unless it’s paired with acceptable proof.
To proceed, you should either:
(1) upgrade your virtual office service to one that offers proof of address documents (some providers offer this for tax registration), or
(2) appoint a UK tax representative or accountant who can assist in handling your VAT registration and may provide a compliant address.
Without valid proof of address, HMRC will likely reject the application or delay processing.
Speak with an accountant, I recommend Harvinder Singh Dhillon.
You need to show your trading address, so if that’s not in the UK, you can show your international trading address from where you work from.
Well that’s perfect. Thank you so much. But how can I tell them because they Ask For PPOB address with proof and I only can Enter UK address there. I am stuck here.
Actually, there’s a part on the form where you tick the box for a non UK.
