Hey everyone, quick question from our team at Alpha Spikes. We’re currently managing around 18 SKUs across the Gym & Kitchen niches, and we’re really struggling to get our PPC campaigns to spend their daily budget. Bids are super competitive and impressions are showing up, but Amazon is barely touching the budget by the end of the day. Has anyone run into this weird bottleneck lately? If you’ve got any tips or fixed something similar, please drop a reply in detail or hit Alpha Spikes please. Any help would be hugely appreciated!
So, if you are already getting impressions but Amazon is barely spending the daily budget across 18 SKUs, I would not automatically assume that increasing the bids further will solve it. Impressions without sufficient clicks can indicate that the ads are entering auctions but shoppers simply are not engaging with them, so I would first look at CTR, conversion rate, search-term relevance and placement performance.
I would download the Search Term, Targeting and Placement reports and identify where the bottleneck actually occurs. If CTR is poor, look closely at your main image, price, reviews and offer versus competitors. If CTR is healthy but impressions are limited, expand relevant keyword/product targeting and test manual campaigns alongside automatic campaigns. Amazon specifically recommends manual targeting and bid adjustments when Sponsored Products campaigns are struggling to generate sufficient impressions.
Also check the bidding strategy. With Dynamic Bids – Down Only, Amazon can reduce your auction bid by up to 100% when it predicts a lower probability of conversion, meaning a seemingly competitive base bid does not necessarily mean that Amazon is actually bidding that amount in every auction.
With 18 SKUs, I would concentrate the budget on the products and search terms already demonstrating conversion rather than trying to force every campaign to spend its full daily allocation. An unspent budget is not necessarily a problem; spending it on low-quality traffic can be considerably worse.
