Upcoming EPR Pay on Behalf charges for Amazon.es sales

Announcement reposted from Amazon Spain:

Between June and August, 2024, eligible sellers will be invoiced for eco-contribution fees for their packaged goods sales on Amazon.es in 2023 and Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) Pay on Behalf annual service fees. In line with the EPR regulation, producers must pay eco-contribution fees to Producer Responsibility Organizations (PROs) for packaged goods sold in Spain.

As communicated in 2023, if you met all of the following criteria, you were automatically enrolled in Amazon’s EPR Pay on Behalf service and Amazon paid eco-contribution fees on your sales:

  • You were considered a producer in the context of the Spanish Packaging Law.
  • You sold packaged goods on Amazon.es in Spain.
  • You were not established in Spain.
  • You did not submit a valid EPR registration number (ERN) for packaged goods on the Amazon Compliance Portal by December 31, 2023.

EPR Pay on Behalf ensures that the products you sell in Amazon’s store comply with EPR obligations and enables you to sell without disruption. EPR Pay on Behalf reports and pays eco-contribution fees for your sales in Amazon’s stores, where the service is available, and then debits those amounts from your selling account.

If you were eligible for EPR Pay on Behalf in 2023, you’ll receive an invoice in the upcoming months in your Seller Central Case Log. The invoice will contain a breakdown of the categories you will be charged for and the total amount to be debited from your seller account in 2-4 weeks. When you receive the invoice notification, you can also download your eco-contributions report.
