Ungating Pokemon

Hi everyone,

Brand spanking new seller here in the US Market. I’m in the process of ungating profitable products that I’ve done a bit of research on.

One of those products is Pokemon. I went through the Kohl’s method and I’ve been rejected twice.

This is the message I received from Amazon after my 2nd rejection:

Blockquote Hello, Thank you for your application to sell Pokémon products. We have reviewed the documentation you provided and determined that you are not eligible to sell Pokémon products. We evaluated the information you provided, but it did not pass our review. We took this action to ensure the mutual success of our sellers and buyers on our site.

Here is the ASIN: B0CN1SXPTP
I’ve followed all the required guidelines, including clear photos of the Pokemon cards, the invoice from Kohl with receipt # whited out, and screenshots of the shipment arriving at my address.

Should I just keep applying with a different description?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

It seems like the issue lies in the documentation provided. When applying to get ungated for Pokémon products, Amazon requires a legitimate invoice from an authorized distributor or manufacturer, not just a retailer like Kohl’s. The receipt from Kohl’s may not meet Amazon’s strict ungating criteria, as they often require invoices that clearly display the supplier’s details, the buyer’s name, and a non-redacted receipt number. Instead of reapplying with the same documentation, try sourcing Pokémon products from an authorized distributor and providing their invoice. Double-check that the invoice includes all required information and is in the correct format.

You’re correct, I just received a third rejection from amazon, and they provided a reason: “Kohl’s”.

Do you have any suggested authorized distributors or manufacturers?

Hello @IcyInventories,

thank you for posting here. Kohl’s isn’t a good supplier to ungate Pokemon. While Kohl’s invoices may get accepted in case of authenticity issues, they are not good for ungating every brand.

Pokemon is a Japanese brand and Amazon will accept invoices from licensed goods stores.

I can give you an example:

Thanks, Kika!

Unfortunately, I believe those distributors are located in the UK and I’m a US-based seller
but this gives me a great idea of where to obtain Pokemon for my future attempt at ungating

Yes, just search for whatever country you need to source the goods in and “licensed merch store”:

For example: EMP | Music, Movie, TV & Gaming Merch | Alternative Clothing

Amazon is vetting suppliers on the basis of the category of goods sold.
