I’ve recently seen that two of my Amazon orders were sold at a price significantly lower than what I had set, and they were marked as “Marketplace Facilitator Orders.” Interestingly, Marketplace Facilitator VAT wasn’t applied, but these sales ended up causing a loss. Has anyone else encountered unexpected price adjustments like this?
I’d be grateful for any advice on how to prevent this from happening again.

They are likely to be despatched to a destination with a lower VAT than your home country.
If you are not VAT-registered, you lose out on all market facilitator orders as Amazon deducts the non-existent vat before they pay you.
If you are vat-registered, all you need to do is to check that the math works out and Amazon have calculated the money due to you correctly. They often make mistakes so you have to go through the laborious process of claiming the shortfall from Seller Support.
This may be due to Amazon’s automated pricing or discounting settings, which can sometimes apply if you’re enrolled in programs like Automate Pricing or if there are promotions that you may not have been aware of.
To prevent this, check your pricing settings, turn off any automated pricing rules, and review your promotions or discounts.
Thank you, I didn’t know that. Is there a way to prevent Marketplace Facilitator Orders from being placed, or is that unavoidable? I already operate with very low profit margins.
You can only restrict sales to those countries/destinations. Look at your shipping templates if you are on pro plan.
