Unavailable FBA inventory after shipment delivery

Hi, Everyone!

I’ve created 3 shipment plans recently. Out of these, two plans have already been closed:

One of the listings shows all units in reserved status, and the shipment is marked as closed.

The other listing shows missing units, and that shipment is also closed.

The third shipment has been in transit for almost a month now with no further updates.

I haven’t faced this situation before, so I would really appreciate any guidance or suggestions you might have to help resolve these issues.

Thank you!

  • Wait until it comes out of reserved—you can open a case, but usually, you just have to wait.
  • File for reimbursement for the missing units by providing invoices and proof of delivery.
  • You need to contact UPS; if it’s an Amazon-partnered carrier, you should get reimbursed.

One of the listings shows all units in reserved status, and the shipment is marked as closed — most likely, they are being transferred from one fulfillment center to another.
The other listing shows missing units, and that shipment is also closed — for the missing units, make sure you open a case, provide proof of purchase, and claim a refund.
The third shipment has been in transit for almost a month now with no further updates — get in touch with UPS (assuming you shipped with UPS).

When a closed FBA shipment shows all units in “Reserved,” it usually means Amazon is still transferring those units between fulfilment centres—this can last anywhere from a few days to several weeks and will clear automatically once they reach their final FC; for the shipment marked “Missing,” go to the Reconcile tab for that shipment, download the discrepancy report, and submit the requested evidence (box content details, tracking, or invoice) to open a lost‑inbound investigation and claim reimbursement; for the shipment stuck “In Transit” for a month, confirm via carrier tracking that all boxes were delivered, then open a case under FBA Shipments > Shipment Issues, provide the shipment ID and proof‑of‑delivery, and request an internal dock search—once Amazon receives and scans the freight, the status should advance to “Receiving” and then close; meanwhile, keep your performance logs updated and follow up weekly until each shipment is reconciled or reimbursed.

I appreciate your question as I had this exact situation a few months back. I had 300 units in 3 separate shipments to FBA. A total of 100 units ever became available for sale. The others were listed as missing, reserve status, and eventually closed. I DID get reimbursed for missing units (at cost of course). How can you ship parcel boxes to FBA with the best chance of items arriving and becoming available for sale? Single or multiple boxes? AWD? 3 PL? Partnered carrier or not? I’m getting ready to send another one (yes trying again!) and wondering if I’m doing something wrong? The shipments were all checked in, but remained in FC transfers and reserve status until they were eventually closed with missing units. Would love feedback from successful sellers!!
