Trying to get started with Amazon FBA

From my research it seems PL will be my way to go.

Not sure what should be my first steps, the important things I’ve found to do so far are:

  • register LLC (for non us)

  • product research (still haven’t found a method for this yet)

  • analyze competition in chosen niche (not sure how to correctly analyse a niche to know if it’s plausible/impossible to enter)

  • sign up to Amazon seller with pro account

What order should I do them in?

If I’m missing anything please add, also for the ones I’m not sure about, guidance to a good source would be appreciated.

After account creation, you need a product. The next step is hunting. Then, you select your niche. After that, you do keyword research. Next, you source from China. Afterwards, you create listings, write content, make a shipment plan, and finally, you launch the product and run PPC.

There are many tools to do product research and analyze competition. H10 and jungle scout are on top. But for a beginner there are many difficulties in finding a perfect and profitable product

Best place to start will be to hire an attorney that resides in the USA and have them get you setup. You have a pile of laws that need to be addressed. Its not simple and if you make a mistake you can lose all your inventory in FBA.

It’s good that you understand the basics of Amazon FBA and are considering Private Label (PL) as your strategy.

  1. You need to create an account, whether it’s an individual or professional one, depending on your goals.
  2. Select the product you want to sell, and this decision should be based on market analysis rather than intuition. This includes product ideation, competitor research, market behavior, your niche (growing or declining trend), market segmentation, price point analysis, profit margin analysis, investment breakdown, etc.
  3. Source your product to sell. At this point, focus on this step and follow industry experts on YouTube to gain knowledge about the Amazon Private Label business.

These 5 steps in PL are necessary:

  1. Account creation

  2. Product research

  3. Product sourcing

  4. Product launching

  5. Ranking.

My honest suggestion would be to conduct thorough research, consider purchasing some courses, or hire a professional to assist you.

Best source for learning more is Kevin kings ‘freedom ticket 3.0’ in helium 10.

Private label means building your own brand and creating an asset, which involves investing a significant amount of money. Therefore, the knowledge you currently have about private label may not even cover one step of Amazon private label.

I’d always suggest arbitrage/wholesale before PL - learn the basics before going for the more advanced bit. Lot of extra considerations with PL, a lot more risky, but obvs higher margins

I highly suggest you try Online Arbitrage especially you are just starting, it is much safer than PL then go with it after months. Keepa is the key to find winning products in Amazon, you can also use keepa for the advance sourcing together with sellerAmp SAS as your calculator. Best of luck!
