I recently encountered an issue with one of the listings I was selling from an authorized distributor. Suddenly, Amazon applied a Transparency code program to that listing. After speaking with the manufacturer, they mentioned that they don’t know what happened and are not familiar with the Transparency program either.
My questions are:
Since I did FBA directly from the distributor, if I get the Transparency code, do I need to provide only the Transparency code for that SKU, or do I also need to sticker the product with the Transparency code?
Is there any other way to resolve this issue, or should I accept the mistake, as they claimed it was a counterfeit item, and remove the complaint from my account?
Your valuable suggestions would be highly appreciated.
Unfortunately, you won’t be able to continue selling the product at all, since it requires Transparency barcodes. I had it happen to me as well and had to remove my entire FBA inventory. Amazon usually sends you an early notice about a product’s enrollment into Transparency.
Also, you should know that Amazon often enrolls products into Transparency despite that product doesn’t have any such arrangement with whoever controls the listing.
Amazon always notifies you before implementing Transparency code restrictions If your inventory is already available in the FBA warehouse and is live you can see it without any issue
However, if you are going to send a new shipment for an ASIN that is already part of the Transparency program, Amazon won’t accept that shipment unless each item has a Transparency code attached.
You should contact the brand directly to ask if they have enrolled in the Amazon Transparency program. They can provide you with the Transparency code if they want to allow you to sell on Amazon
Talked with the brand , they are continuously saying that when you are doing FBA it is not your responsibility amazon will do that for you on your products since you have not the physical stock or doing FBM.
They said that if for instance they provide that transparency code, it will give the owners right to you and this is against our policy. They are offering me this below.
“Return all items to us and we will accept the return so that you don’t have any loss and we will buy all of them”
Now the question is should I accept the complain and remove the inauthenticity from my account or keep fighting with the brand in that case?
You don’t have a choice but to accept the complaint to get it removed from your account, without the codes your stock is classed as inauthentic, it’s a good thing the brand will buy it off you, I’ve been selling mine on eBay for months very slowly.
