Tips for successfully launching FBA

Hello everybody!

I’m here looking for tips to get started successfullly with FBA. There’s so much confusion out there! What has proven successful for those here that you could share?

Thank you

3rd party or private label?

I am still unsure about the business model. I may try some RA, OA or wholesale.

You should get your advice from the Amazon platform, and leave all the internet guru’s to argue amongst themselves.

EDUCATION!

You don’t just decide one day to start selling on the Amazon FBA platform, and ask for tips. It’s just too complex.

You need to Get started with Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA). Once you finish all the Seller University FBA topics, read all the FBA policies, agreements, and guidelines come back with specific questions.

Thank you. Do you know if I can send products with batteries into FBA? I heard that Amazon prohibits them? I was thinking about selling decorative mini lamps with custom printed patterns.

To send batteries to Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA), you must provide additional information on any products that are batteries, contain or are sold with batteries, or may be considered dangerous goods (also called hazardous materials or Hazmat).

Amazon provides specific product packaging instructions for FBA sellers when shipping dry batteries. Some lithium-ion batteries, lithium-ion polymer batteries, and lithium metal batteries are included in this category.

If the battery information you provide is incomplete, inaccurate or otherwise conflicting, your product may be blocked for sale through FBA. You will need to submit a battery exemption sheet through the Upload dangerous goods documents tool in Seller Central.

Some types of batteries that are not allowed in Amazon fulfillment centers include:

  • Spill opal lead acid batteries
  • Batteries that are not factory sealed
  • Poorly packaged batteries

They sound really nice. You will need to consider packaging them so they won’t arrive at the Fulfillment center and/or the customers location in pieces. We can help you with suggestions.

Thank you so much, here is what they look like:

I could either supply them with or without batteries. I assume the customers would be happier if they were already included. What do you think?

Yes, the customers would prefer that they already come with batteries. That would be a plus.

They are really nice. They’d have a better chance of survival in the FBA warehouse system if you packed them in individual boxes.
