I have been interested in selling products on Amazon for a while now and I’ve recently just started digging deep into the research process, since it is all very new to me some topics spark questions. I’ve heard from some that you need a LLC which I do plan on getting regardless… but was curious to know if that was the case. In the sellers app you need approval to sell items, which I understand you get from a supplier. Some please explain the process and any tips are definitely welcome!
With that you are better off to consult with an attorney or CPA. It is extremely complicated issue.
Not really anything left to be considered a “tip”. Just do your due diligence before purchasing your goods.
If you are serious about this you need to live by “zero trust” regarding every aspect of your business. You can and will make money selling online just be very careful. Keep in mind that amazon can and will seize your inventory and all your money if they get a complaint about the legitimacy of your product.
So, make sure you have 100% viable chain of custody and authorization from the IP owner. Many amazon sellers are just flipping trinkets from big box stores and doing online arbitrage. It all depends on you…
Yes, having an LLC is recommended for selling on Amazon, but it’s not a strict requirement. Some products may require approval from distributors or brands. To obtain approval, you can contact the brands or suppliers directly. However, I recommend starting with ungated products initially, as they don’t require any approval. Build your account history and sales, and then consider moving to get brand approval products once you have established your presence on the platform.
Thank you both for the valuable tips
