I received this from Amazon today stating: ‘Take action to comply with your legislative obligations before enforcement. Your selling privileges have been restricted,’ even though I can still sell without any issues. The letter says I need to add the country of origin to my listings. I have thousands of SKUs, so this will take a very long time. The letter mentions that this applies to FBA, but I don’t use FBA, and I don’t sell outside of the UK, which the letter also references. Additionally, at the bottom of the letter, there is a checkbox for Italy, but I don’t sell in that marketplace.
Do you think it will be okay to just acknowledge the letter, check the box, and not add the country of origin to my listings since I only sell via Merchant Fulfilled in the UK? Should I even acknowledge it?
You have to set the Country Of Origin and then acknowledge. You’ll be back selling straight away.
These are the issues I have with making us do this, now. It used to be compulsory to enter the Country if Origin field when adding a product and amazon removed this mandatory requirement.
Secondly- if they only took the initiative to default it to China for sellers to confirm by clicking save or changing it they wouldn’t be wasting so much of our time making manually editing them all now, after the fact.
