Sell books because new accounts can only be ungated in books and some more products but mostly books.
Since you just opened your account, the first step is to understand how Amazon works and choose the right mode either FBA (where Amazon stores and ships your product) or FBM where you handle shipping yourself.
Which marketplace are you planning to sell in?
You need to start with solid product research like demand, low competition, good margins and validate with keyword data from Amazon search results, calculate FBA fees, source a quality supplier, optimize your listing (SEO title, bullets, images), and launch with PPC plus Vine program.
A clean, high-resolution image on a white background is still important, but clarity is often what makes the biggest difference. If a listing is getting impressions but the click-through rate stays low, the main image may look polished without clearly showing what the product is, how it works, or how large it is. In many cases, the better approach is to focus less on making the image look artistic and more on making the product instantly understandable. Showing the most functional angle, making the size easier to judge, and removing distracting elements can help shoppers understand the product within a second. Often, the image that performs best is not the most beautiful one, but the one that communicates the product’s purpose most clearly.

Amazon doesn’t always give loud warnings.
No long explanations. No second chances.
Sometimes, one small mistake is enough to put your account on hold.
New sellers often think:
“No notification means everything is fine.”
That’s the biggest risk.
This is exactly why smart new sellers hire a Virtual Assistant (VA) —
to avoid guesswork, to read the silent signals, and to make decisions with clarity instead of shooting arrows in the dark.
Because on Amazon, what you don’t see can hurt your account the most.
