Hi everyone,
I’m currently looking for a reliable and reasonably priced service provider to handle EPR compliance (Packaging + Chemicals) for my company across multiple EU countries.
We are selling via Pan-EU FBA and already have some registrations in place (Germany and France for packaging), but we now need support for ongoing compliance and additional countries.
I recently received an offer from TBA Global, but the pricing seems quite high compared to what I expected:
- UK (Packaging – small organization): £1,120
- Italy: £420
- Netherlands: £133
- Belgium: £133
- Sweden: £315
- Ireland: £1,400
- Poland: £420
- France (EPR Chemicals): £245
- Germany (reporting + authorized representative): £84
- France (reporting + authorized representative): £217
Before moving forward, I wanted to ask the community:
- Who are you currently working with for EPR compliance in the EU?
- Are there any providers you would recommend (good + cost-effective)?
- What kind of annual costs are you paying per country?
- Is anyone managing part of the process in-house and part via consultants?
I’m especially interested in finding a balance between cost and reliability, as full outsourcing across all countries can become quite expensive.
Any recommendations or experiences would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance!
You are right, unfortunately this is becoming a very real issue for EU Amazon sellers, especially those using Pan-EU FBA or selling cross-border into multiple EU countries. Under the evolving PPWR and EPR framework, sellers are increasingly required to obtain packaging registration numbers and submit them to Amazon to prove compliance in each country where they place packaged goods on the market. Amazon has already been enforcing these obligations in countries such as Germany and France for some time, and enforcement is now expanding further across Europe.
The difficult part is that although PPWR aims to harmonize packaging regulation across the EU, the practical implementation still remains fragmented at country level, meaning sellers often need separate registrations, reporting, representatives, and annual declarations in multiple jurisdictions. For many smaller sellers this is becoming extremely expensive and administratively overwhelming, especially with annual compliance fees and authorized representative requirements being added country by country.
Amazon is also under increasing pressure to verify seller compliance directly, which is why they are asking for EPR registration numbers and in some countries automatically enrolling sellers into “Pay on Behalf” systems if valid numbers are not submitted. However, Pay on Behalf does not remove all obligations, and sellers often still remain legally responsible for registration and reporting.
Out of interest, is your UK store doing more than 25 tonnes of packaging a year? As that’s the minimum requirement to start doing any EPR here, as thats your biggest hitter, if you dont do that thats a massive win.
I used Avask for EPR for Germany but pricing for your EU countries is similar.
