SPP Question

My potential client asked me if I already registered to SPP and able to accept Service Provider invitations.

Do I have to create my own seller central account to register in SPP? If so, there is 39.99 fee. I’m not selling, I’m a VA.

Please help and enlighten me how to register to SPP as a VA.

You do not need to create a Professional Seller Central account or pay the $39.99 monthly selling fee just because you are a VA. Amazon now has the Solution Provider Portal specifically for third-party service providers who need authorised access to sellers’ accounts. You should register through SPP as a service provider, complete the identity verification and apply for the Seller Central roles/permissions relevant to the services you provide. Once approved, your client can send you an Authorized Partner invitation from their Seller Central account, which you accept through your SPP account. Amazon’s current documentation specifically says that someone who is new to Amazon can create an SPP account using a valid email address, so there is no reason to open a paid selling account when you are not actually selling products.

Seller Central and the Solution Provider Portal are separate things, and Amazon created SPP so service providers can obtain authorised access to their clients’ Seller Central accounts without maintaining their own selling business.

Register for SPP using the email address you intend to use for client access, select the service-provider option, complete identity verification and request only the roles you genuinely need for your VA services. Amazon says role approval can take up to 10 business days.

Once those roles are approved, your client can generate an Authorized Partner invitation from User Permissions and send it to you; you accept it through SPP and the client then chooses the permissions they want to grant you.
