Shipping with DPD in Germany

Hi,

those of you doing FBM in Germany and shipping with DPD — did you fill out the form for dangerous goods, or are you just sending the packages without it?

Not my thing, but from what I know, you should fill the form for every single shipment with dangerous goods.

If you’re doing FBM in Germany with DPD you generally don’t need to fill out the dangerous goods declaration unless your products actually fall under ADR regulations (e.g. lithium batteries, aerosols, flammable liquids, chemicals, etc.).

For regular consumer goods such as books, clothing, toys, or most household items, sellers just ship them normally without any special paperwork.

The dangerous goods form only becomes relevant if your inventory contains items DPD classifies as hazardous, and in that case you need pre-approval and correct labeling. Most FBM sellers using DPD in Germany don’t bother with the form at all because their products aren’t considered dangerous goods.
