Selling on Amazon USA market from India

Hi,

I am completely new to Amazon. I live in India and am planning to start Amazon FBA Private Label in the US marketplace full-time with a budget of around $10k. I have already started my product research, but there are some things that are still unclear to me:

1.	Is it okay to start with my Indian proprietorship and later switch to a US LLC when things become more stable? Will this affect my account if I comply with all legal requirements?

2.	What type of product should I aim for?

Any other expert advice would be highly appreciated.

You can start with an Indian proprietorship and switch to a US LLC later if needed. Focus on simple, low competition private label products with steady demand.

Starting with your Indian proprietorship is completely fine and many sellers do that before moving to a US LLC later. As long as your documents and tax details stay compliant, it usually doesn’t create issues.

For products, try avoiding highly saturated or trendy categories at the start. Focus on lightweight products with healthy margins and branding potential.

Also, getting proper guidance in the beginning can save a lot of money and mistakes. I personally used an agency and their support really helped me better understand product research, PPC, and launching strategy for the US marketplace.

Yes you can start with an Indian proprietorship and later switch to a US LLC if needed, but make changes properly with Amazon and legal/tax compliance to avoid account issues.

For product selection, focus on lightweight, low-competition, problem-solving products with stable demand, good profit margins and avoid highly saturated categories in the beginning.
