Selling on Amazon USA and UK

Hi everyone,

I’m a new seller and started by opening my USA Amazon account using an LLC, and later opened my UK marketplace where I registered a UK Ltd company. My plan is to sell on both marketplaces.

Right now, my USA account is active, and I’m working on my first purchase.

But for the UK account, Amazon has asked for video verification, which is scheduled for the end of this month.

I have two questions:

  1. Can I go ahead and start buying and selling on my USA account while the UK one is still under verification?

  2. If my UK video verification fails, will only the UK account be affected, or will it also cause issues with my USA account?

I would really appreciate guidance from experienced sellers here. Looking forward to learning more!

Yes, you can absolutely start buying and selling on your USA account while the UK one is still under verification, Amazon treats them as separate entities. As for the UK video verification, if it doesn’t go through, it’ll only affect your UK account.

Your USA account should stay unaffected as long as everything there is compliant. Keep pushing forward, you’re on the right track!

  1. Even if they are separate, sometimes they can link them and sometimes they don’t - why not just wait- video verification is usually quick and straightforward.

  2. This is one of those things Amazon is inconsistent on. Sometimes they link them and sometimes they don’t.

Just focus on keeping both healthy and out of trouble.

Can we open both marketplaces using different companies? For example, using LTD documents for the UK account and LLC documents for the US account. Is that acceptable?

Yeah, it’s not a problem.

It’s just not guaranteed that they’ll be treated as separate accounts, Amazon can link them if one gets suspended.

An USA account and an UK account are two completly different accounts and there is nothing wrong with that, so nothing to worry about.

You can keep operating and selling on your US account while the UK account is still in verification, because each marketplace is treated separately; if the UK video verification fails, Amazon usually restricts or closes only that UK seller account, but the US account remains active unless Amazon detects serious discrepancies (for example, conflicting identity information or linked policy violations), so just ensure both accounts’ business details and documents are accurate, consistent, and that you maintain good performance on the US side.

This has been opened by mistake by me but I have video verification in the UK on the 28th.

Should I get my video verified on the 28th and then close this account because I am more focused on the US account?

Give me an opinion on this.

If you’re already booked for the video verification, I’d just go through with it on the 28th. Once it’s verified, you can decide whether to keep it or close it. Closing a verified account is cleaner and safer than leaving it stuck in pending status — less chance of Amazon linking issues down the road.

Before closing, make sure you download any account data, invoices, or reports you might need in the future.
