I hope you are all well. I have a question in regards to sales ranking. At the end of last year, my company managed to achieve a really good sales rank with our ‘flagship’ product, between 500-800 within the sports and outdoor category, which I was really happy about. How do you then maintain a sales rank like this as since, it has gone up to the several thousands which we expect every year. I have been looking at the sales rank of competitors and they manage to somehow maintain their sales rank throughout the entire year but I am not sure how?
Running PPC atm but I can’t find much more that will improve it?
Many sellers think that all sales help ranking equally, but that is not always true. If sales are increasing while your main keyword rank is dropping, the issue is often that the sales are too spread out across many different search terms. This commonly happens when an account relies heavily on broad and phrase match campaigns. The product may still be generating revenue, but Amazon is not getting a strong enough signal that the listing is highly relevant for the one primary keyword that matters most. A better approach is to drive more focused demand by putting more emphasis on exact match campaigns for your main keyword, so Amazon can more clearly associate conversions with that specific term and strengthen your ranking there.
