Retracting a complaint

A brand filed an IP complaint against all sellers on their listing because they wanted to verify the source of the products. After speaking with a representative, they confirmed that our source is legitimate.

They explained that there’s no option on Amazon to retract the IP complaint for a specific seller, as the complaint applies to all sellers under the same Complaint ID. If they try to retract it using the Complaint ID, it would apply to everyone, which they don’t want to do.

They are newly brand-registered on Amazon and aren’t familiar with how to retract the complaint for an individual seller.

If anyone has experience with this, could you please share how they can retract a complaint for a specific seller? What’s the process, and how should they contact Amazon regarding this?

I would threaten them with legal action. Too many people bite the hand that feeds them with false accusations.

If a brand has filed an IP complaint against all sellers but wants to retract it for specific sellers, they should first submit a formal request to Amazon’s Notice Dispute team. While Amazon doesn’t allow retractions for individual sellers under the same Complaint ID, the brand can try emailing the team at [email protected], explaining the situation and providing details such as the ASIN, the seller’s name, and proof of legitimacy.

The rights owner needs to contact Amazon with their retraction, referencing your merchant number.

They can retract through Brand Registry.

Go to the case ID and click on all the names they want to retract.

Then, click ‘Retract.’

You might need to verify a few other details, but it’s very easy to do through Brand Registry.
