Noticed a weird sound coming from the back of my 2013 Pajero that I can’t quite describe. It’s like a low pitched whine or groan that only happens when I lift off the gas and coast, especially between 60 and 80 km/h. Soon as I touch the accelerator again it goes away completely. No vibrations or clunks, just that annoying whine. I’ve checked the differential fluid level and it seems okay but it’s pretty dark and maybe a bit low. I’m thinking I need a proper differential repair service Dubai because I’ve heard that ignoring rear diff noises can lead to a complete failure and being stranded. I saw Dynostar’s differential page and they mention bearing and gear inspections which sounds like what I need. Has anyone here had a whine on deceleration only that turned out to be pinion bearings or maybe just old fluid? Really hoping it’s not a full gear set replacement because I know that gets expensive fast. Also how urgent is this? Can I drive another month or am I on borrowed time?
