If a brand sells in multiple categories (e.g., groceries and beauty), can I buy 10 items under the groceries category directly from the brand to get ungated in all categories?
I previously purchased some beauty products from this brand that I’m gated in and can’t return. I’m also currently gated in groceries, so I’m wondering if buying groceries would ungate me in that category and allow me to sell the beauty products I already have.

Nope, you can’t buy 10 items under the groceries category to get ungated in all categories. However, you can totally use one invoice to ungate a brand in different categories, so you’re hitting two birds with one stone. Just grab, say, 5 items from groceries and 5 from beauty—if you’ve got a total of 10 items from the same brand on one invoice, you should be good to go.
Just make sure before you buy that the items you’re getting are actually restricted in the brand or category you’re aiming to unlock.

So even though I’m ungated in beauty in general but not for that specific brand, getting ungated in groceries for that brand wouldn’t allow me to sell the beauty versions of that brand, right? I also assume I’d need 10 items from groceries to get ungated in that category in general. So, if I have 10 items from groceries and 1 from beauty, could the invoice be used for both?
Since you’re already ungated in the beauty category, yes, you can buy 10 items from groceries (making sure the ASIN you use to ungate is gated in both groceries and the brand) and use that same invoice to ungate the brand and groceries. Once the brand is ungated, you’ll also be able to sell that brand in beauty.
Just remember that the ASIN on the invoice should be restricted in both the brand and the categories you want to unlock. You don’t need an additional beauty item on the invoice if your goal is to ungate the brand.
Also, keep in mind that just because you’re ungated for a specific brand doesn’t mean you can sell every single item from that brand. Some ASINs may still be restricted. Good luck!
