Questions for retail arbitrage experts

I’ve being doing private label for a year and want to try retail arbitrage now.

Can anyone advise further about the ‘being gated’ issues before I buy stock?

Do you have to get ungated for every item?

How do you know if you’re gated?

Anything else should be aware of?

Gating issues in retail arbitrage vary by product category on platforms like Amazon. You may need approval to sell certain brands or products, and it’s crucial to check requirements for each item. To check if you’re gated, try listing the product, and the platform will notify you if approval is required. Research the specific category or brand gating rules to avoid potential hurdles. Have you considered creating a strategy for ungating specific products or brands?

When ungating you have to go through the process of purchasing at least 10 units from an authorized distributor or wholesaler for you to get an invoice that has to be reviewed and approved by Amazon. Remember that when ungating, always secure an invoice not a receipt.
