I would like to create a shipment and provide the supplier with shipping labels. There are 3 cases of items in a warehouse in Florida and 2 cases in another warehouse in Texas.
Do I have to create two separate shipments because the supplier has the product in two different locations, or is it okay to create one shipment?
You have to create two separate shipments as the products are stored in different locations which are Florida and Texas. So, each location will require its own set of shipping labels.
You will need to create two separate shipments in Amazon Seller Central if the inventory is located in two different warehouses (Florida and Texas) and the supplier will be shipping from both. Amazon’s shipment creation workflow requires accurate origin addresses for each shipment, and shipping labels (both FBA and carrier labels) are generated based on the “Ship From” location. Creating a single shipment with an incorrect origin can result in delays, misrouting, or non-compliance with Amazon’s requirements, so the correct approach is to create one shipment for each warehouse location.
In this case, you need to create two separate shipments for the following reasons:
Each shipment must originate from the same physical location (warehouse). The carrier (FedEx, UPS, DHL, etc.) assigns tracking numbers and labels based on the pickup or delivery location. A single shipping label cannot cover shipments that are picked up from two different warehouses hundreds of miles apart.
Shipping labels are generated based on a specific origin address (warehouse). You will generate one set of labels for the Florida warehouse (for 3 boxes) and another set of labels for the Texas warehouse (for 2 boxes).
Carriers require that each shipment have separate documentation (labels, manifests) related to its specific origin. Combining shipments from multiple origins into one paper “shipment” is confusing and violates the carrier’s standard procedures.
And you can provide your supplier with two different sets of labels to clarify:
Which labels apply to the Florida shipment.
Which labels apply to the Texas shipment?
This avoids mistakes where labels are mixed up or shipments are misplaced.
