Question for people in Canadian marketplace

I am based in Alberta and doing my own prep so how much should I factor in for prep costs? Also, how much should I include for inbound shipping “ per/kg”? Are there any other fees I should consider to get an accurate profit calculation?

Would really appreciate any guidance on the right settings in SellerAmp.

Thanks in advance

Since you’re based in Alberta and doing your own prep, your prep cost per unit will mainly depend on your time and materials—most sellers factor in anywhere from CAD $0.30 to $1.00 per unit for things like polybags, labels, bubble wrap, and boxes. If you’re handling prep yourself and want to be conservative, entering around CAD $0.50 to $0.75 in SellerAmp under “Prep Cost” is a good starting point. For inbound shipping to Amazon FBA, most sellers in Canada estimate around CAD $0.50 to $1.20 per kg depending on the carrier, box size, and distance to the fulfillment center, so a general average of CAD $0.80/kg can work as a base. Other costs to factor into your profit calculation include the cost of goods (COGS), Amazon referral fees, FBA fees, optional storage costs, and PPC if you’re running ads. In SellerAmp, make sure to input your local currency settings, fill in the “Prep Cost,” “Inbound Shipping per KG,” and “Cost Price” fields accurately, and turn on VAT if it applies to you. You can also toggle settings like “Min ROI” and “Min Profit” to filter by your target margins more easily.
