Is anyone in the UK getting them for their Ltd? Do we really have to complete these surveys?
Notice is given under Section 1 of the Statistics of Trade Act 1947
Quarterly Vacancy Survey (QVS)
REMINDER - You are legally required to complete this survey
Dear Respondent,
Your QVS response for the period 7 March 2025 should have been submitted by 14 March 2025.
You are required by law to complete the QVS. Under the provisions of Section 4 of the Statistics of Trade Act 1947, failure to submit the completed survey could result in a fine of up to £2,500 and you will still need to complete the survey.
The information you provide contributes to the Quarterly Vacancies and Jobs Statistical Bulletin, which is used by the Treasury and the Bank of England as a valuable indicator of labour demand.
Information we require
You will need the following information to complete the survey:
Yeah, I received this before. I chose to ignore it, thinking there’s no way they can really make you do these surveys, but they kept hounding me with letters, so I guess it’s true: you really do have to complete the survey! It’s so silly, honestly. We all have busy enough days without needing to respond to things like this, and it really should be a choice whether you want to take part or not.
By law you must do the task each month. They will send you a reminder. It’s just a few minutes task, you need to provide number for your sales. Thats all.
Yes, if you’ve received the Quarterly Vacancy Survey (QVS) from the Office for National Statistics (ONS) in the UK, it’s not a scam and it is a legal requirement under the Statistics of Trade Act 1947, which gives the ONS the authority to collect certain business data. Not all companies receive it, but if your Ltd has been selected, you are obligated to respond even if you have no vacancies, in which case you would report zero. Failure to comply can result in a fine, so it’s best to complete and submit the survey by the stated deadline to avoid any issues.
