Product still requiring approval after ungating a brand

Hello everyone,

I’m new to Amazon FBA. I got ungated but cannot list the product I submitted for approval. I know there are products and categories. The specific brand is approved, but I still cannot list it.

Any insights?

Thank you.

Brand approval only removes one layer of restriction, and an ASIN can still be blocked for several other reasons.

The most common are separate category or sub-category gates (e.g., Topicals, Supplements, Pesticides wording, Medical Devices) that require their own approval.

Specific ASINs may be locked by the brand owner or enrolled in programs like Transparency or brand whitelisting so only authorized accounts can list.

Compliance holds can also block listing if the ASIN needs safety documentation such as SDS, CPC/CPSIA, CE/UKCA, battery specs, meltable flags, adult or hazmat clearance, or country of origin that hasn’t been provided.

Some ASINs are condition-restricted (new only or refurb only), variation-locked, or have an IP complaint history that forces case-by-case review. Start by using Add a Product to attempt listing and read the exact red banner reason, then open Selling Applications to confirm what was approved and what’s still pending.

Check the Compliance and Dangerous Goods dashboards for document requests tied to that ASIN and upload what’s missing. If the block cites brand owner authorization, submit a fresh invoice (often 100 units within 180 days) and a letter of authorization naming your legal entity.

If it cites pesticides or claims, remove trigger words like antibacterial, antimicrobial, or disinfecting and complete the pesticides policy quiz.

If it mentions Transparency, you must obtain and enter valid Transparency codes for your units or choose a different ASIN.

When none of the above is shown, open a case under Product Page Issue or Listing Restrictions, include screenshots, your prior brand approval ID, and ask for a manual override or clarity on the remaining gate.

You can check the ASIN directly in Seller Central by going to Inventory > Add a Product and searching for the ASIN or product name. If there’s an issue, it will show the reason under ‘Listing limitations apply’-click that to view details. You can also try listing a different ASIN from the same brand to see if the problem is specific to one product.

If you’re still unable to list, open a case with Seller Support, explain that you’re approved to sell the brand but can’t list the ASIN, and ask for help understanding the restriction.

If you’ve been ungated for a brand but still can’t list a product, it may be due to ASIN-level restrictions. Some ASINs have separate approvals even if the brand is ungated.

Try listing the item by ASIN to see the exact error. Also, ensure you’re listing it in the correct condition (e.g. “New”) and that no additional compliance documents are required.

Occasionally, brands restrict specific products from third-party sellers.
