So I have a problem. My biggest selling item comes in two different sizes, 1/4 inch and 3/8 inch – 1/4 inch being the most selected. I’ve sold 1,141 units of the 1/4 inch in the last 11 months with a 5% return (62 units). Side note, these numbers could be a lot better, but I’m still learning as this is my first year.
The real reason why it’s being returned is due to the fact that people pick the 1/4 when they should pick the 3/8 inch version of it. 5% return rate to me is no big deal since you can’t physically touch the item prior to buying it, and to be honest, a 5% return rate is, I feel, normal for any product.
Here’s my problem… people will put anything down as a reason for return. And they’ve put “not as sturdy or as large as advertised”. I test these prints every 3 to 4 orders (I receive 4 orders a day, and I 3-d print multiple orders worth when I restock).
Now Amazon has taken down the one size/one color (I have 9 different colors, with 2 sizes each - 18. Now I have 17 up) - 1/4 White - This is my most sold item.
I can go through the appeal process as it’s more of a “Hey, why not double check and come up with a game plan” type of closing, but what should I do? I already make the 1/4 inch a little bit bigger (6.35 mm = 1/4 inch, I make these 7.5 mm - remember 9.5mm = 3/8 inch).
Should I bump up the size a hair more?
I honestly feel amazon might be over-reacting considering I have a 4.8/5 star review on these flag holders
