Do I use a manufacturer’s barcode or the one that Amazon gives you?
You can use either, whichever suits you best. If you use the manufacturer barcodes, your goods will be commingled which has its own problems but using the Amazon code requires you to overlabel the items.
There’s plenty of help in seller university.
It is recommended to use the Amazon barcode that they give you. You can put the FNSKu labels over manufacturer barcodes.
It depends on how you manage your FBA inventory and whether you want your products commingled with other sellers’ stock.
If your product already has a manufacturer’s barcode (UPC or EAN) and you’ve enabled “manufacturer barcode” under your FBA settings, Amazon will use that for tracking, which allows your units to be mixed with identical items from other sellers — faster to process but riskier if someone else’s product quality is poor.
If you prefer full control and want Amazon to track only your exact inventory, you should choose the Amazon barcode (FNSKU) option, print those labels, and apply them to each unit before sending to the warehouse.
Most private-label and custom-product sellers use FNSKUs to avoid commingling, while retail or online arbitrage sellers sometimes stick with manufacturer barcodes for convenience.
Suggest you use the FNSKU provided by Amazon to prevent mixing with inventory from other sellers
