I’m starting to imagine another level of fraudulent claims
Does every seller have to have this, even new small sellers? If so what sort of prices does this cover likely cost?
lol only Amazon.
No proof needed I’m sure.
Just say the delivery driver delivered a bomb and Amazon will believe it and blame the seller.
It’s concerning how fraudsters can exploit expanded coverage like property damage in A to Z claims. Diligent investigation and stringent verification processes will be crucial to mitigate fraudulent activities and maintain the integrity of the system.
These “property damages” A-Z claims have been a thing in the United States for over a year. Don’t worry, it’s nothing to be worried about. Most sellers will never see one in their lifetime. It’s mainly to make it easier for disgruntled customers to get some sort of a compensation for let’s say a faulty charger which exploded and somehow damaged their property and avoid a lawsuit.
It works like this:
1.A customer notifies Amazon that they have been caused damage by a product ordered from Amazon (they are asking for actual compensation and not just a full refund / return).
2.If the claim value (requested reimbursement) is below £1,000, then Amazon voluntarily covers the whole claim amount without notifying the seller (as long as the seller has the mandatory insurance).
3.And if the claim value is over £1,000, then the seller will have to notify their insurer and work with Amazon on processing and settling the lawsuit.
In my experience, 99.99% of sellers will never hear of such a claim.
Does this mean every seller now has to have business insurance?
Is it just for EU and UK markets?
Yes, USA too.
I just noticed this on the last email, but looks it has been in place for a while.
