I know I need to go on seller central - generate shipment plan and put FNSKU on units and SKU on master box/carton that will go to Amazon, how do I get the SKU?
Does it give it to me once I generate the shipment plan from seller central?
When you create a shipment plan on Seller Central, Amazon will give each product you’re sending to FBA an SKU. You can locate this SKU in the shipment plan once it’s created. Just be sure to put the matching FNSKU on each individual unit and the SKU on the main box or carton.
Why would I need a SKU on the outside of the carton? Wouldn’t it be just the shipping label to Amazon fba on the outside carton? I know each individual item will need the FNSKU. I’m confused about the main label(s) that goes outside on the carton. What if what’s in the carton is two separate type of inventory items (example: shoes & soap)
The item’s SKU is assigned to your products when you add them to the Amazon catalog. You can choose your own SKU as @TarrantToolbox does, or can let Amazon automatically assign one for you as we do. Our products have names, which we use to locate them.

Yes and no.
Each carton will have two labels; the shipping label, and a unique Box label. Refer to the following:
The large carton will have the shipping label, and a box label. It seems complicated at first, but when you follow the Steps in the Workflow it will make a lot more sense.
