A while ago, I sold a few units of a product on Amazon. After selling that initial stock, I never listed or sold it again, and the listing remained out of stock. Now, Amazon is requiring approval to sell that product. Since I don’t plan to sell it again, I deleted the listing. However, in the “Action” tab, it still shows a message saying that approval is needed.
Since you’ve already deleted the listing, you can ignore the approval request, it won’t affect your account. However, if the message persists or affects your Account Health, contact Amazon Account Health Team to confirm it’s fully removed.
Since you’ve already deleted the listing and don’t plan to restock or sell the product again, there’s nothing further you need to do, Amazon leaving the “Approval Needed” message under the Action tab is normal and doesn’t impact your account health or trigger any penalties. That message will stay there for a while even after deletion, but it doesn’t mean you’re required to take any action. Just ignore it and move on unless you ever decide to sell the product again, in which case you’d go through the brand or category approval process at that time.
I’ve seen this happen before. Even after deleting a listing, Amazon sometimes keeps certain requirements active. You might want to check if the listing is still in your ‘Manage Inventory’ under ‘Inactive’ or ‘Suppressed’ and see if there’s an option to remove it completely. Sometimes, it just takes a bit of time for Amazon to update. Have you tried reaching out to Seller Support to confirm?
