Need Advice on IP Complaints Removal

Hey everyone,

I need some guidance regarding IP complaints on my account. Back in October 2024, I received a total of eight IP complaints, three were resolved, but five are still unresolved and remain on my Account Health page. I’ve heard that violations are removed after 180 days, but I also read that if you delete or remove the listing, the countdown starts from that point and it takes another 180 days to clear. In my case, I haven’t removed the listings yet, and the 180-day mark is approaching soon.

My concern is: will these violations be automatically removed from my Account Health page once the 180 days are up, or do I need to delete the listings first and then wait an additional 180 days for them to disappear?

I’d really appreciate any insights from those who have dealt with this before.

Close the listings first and then delete them, don’t keep them.

The 180-day removal rule for IP complaints generally counts from the date the violation was received, not from when you delete the listing, so in most cases, the unresolved complaints will automatically disappear from your Account Health page once the 180 days are up, even if the listings are still active. However, if Amazon suspects ongoing violations or if the complaint was especially serious (like counterfeit), it may linger longer or impact your account standing regardless. Deleting the listing is usually only necessary if you’re trying to show corrective action during an appeal or if you’re still actively selling the product. Since you’re nearing the 180-day mark, monitor your Account Health page closely and make sure there are no additional flags, if they don’t clear after 180 days, it’s worth raising a case to get clarification or request removal.

You were supposed to remove the listings, why didn’t you? I’m pretty sure the violations will be removed 180 days after you received them, regardless, but removing the listings might have helped avoid any further issues.

If you’ve had 8 ip violations you don’t need advice on them. You’re the expert!

I’ve always been able to successfully appeal IP complaints, but this time it didn’t work, so I’m looking for advice. Thank you for the replies.

The advice is: don’t get them in the first place. I’ve avoided it for four years without any issues.
