Meet the robots powering your package deliveries

Announcement reposted from Amazon United States:

At our recent Delivering the Future event, we unveiled our next-generation fulfillment center. Located in Shreveport, Louisiana, this delivery station employs a vast array of Amazon’s latest robots, including Proteus—the first fully autonomous mobile robot—which will help employees ship packages more efficiently.

This state-of-the-art operation represents our vision for collaborative technology that assists employees and improves safety and sustainability while expediting delivery speed. The Shreveport fulfillment center is a milestone that will pave the way for how AI and robotics transform the future of logistics.

“Years of innovation has allowed us to build, test, and scale this unique, highly integrated suite of robotics systems that work to support employees fulfilling customer orders,” said Scott Dresser, vice president of Amazon Robotics. “Thanks to advancements in AI, these technologies integrate seamlessly, and will help us drive an estimated 25 percent productivity improvement at next-generation fulfillment facilities. This allows us to deliver more efficiently for customers, while supporting the employees who make it happen.”
